Re: Tom Sykes Helmet
Even if shark did release it, you wouldn't be able get it and use it legally on AU roads unless Ficeda (Aussie importer of Shark Helmets) imports it and compliances it to AS standard.KEL10R wrote:Bugger, i thought Shark had finally released a Tom Sykes Replica,i really want one, i even emailed them to ask if they were planning on releasing one 4 weeks ago..no reply, figuresone missed sale on their part

Re: Tom Sykes Helmet
What I was getting at is that aussie importers of branded helmets only bring in a small portion of the available world wide catalogue range, a good example of this is Shoei XR-1100, X12 & Arai Corsair.
They say they do this because of the cost of testing/compliancing the helmet to AS1698, whether this is true or not is another story.

Re: Tom Sykes Helmet
The cost of compliance & testing cant bee too high, nor the standards........ have a look at how many $150 helmets are on the shelves, a manufacturer would have to sell a bloody heap of them to make it worth while
