Welcome Beery,

without ya knowing a decent 500 - 600 will pull ya around ok. Lucky ya not in Victoria, cos you have no option start on a 250.

Though for a first bike a GPX orr ZZR are quite capable. Sorry I know nuthing about ER's.

When ya get your scoot look out for the rides section the guys up on the Central Coast are pretty active.

Cheers

Sounds like I'm a simillar size to you, Beery, and I rode about 50,000 kms on ZZR 250's before my P's finally expired - the ER5 will treat you well I'm sure, but don't discount the 250 based on your size, you might just be suprised. Anyway, once you have a Kwaka and a license let us know, the coasties do a run every Sunday and would love to have you along.

Hello Beery, just found this site myself and am also in Mayfield. Give me a shout when your up and running and if ya up for a lap around the beach or where ever I'm in.

Also sounds like might be worth our while to head central coast way when ya got some k's under ya belt.
