Took a trip over to I-K's place today to play suspension. Will a J series swingarm fit straight onto a G? Yes! No muss no fuss straight on. We (I held up the bike while it had no arse) nocked it over in exactly an hour and a half. The J arm is lighter, as is the rear axle. The cross beam for the shock mount is also further foward. Not quite sure what that does to the goemetry though. The result. The rear end felt more controled. I rode down to some roundabouts I go though on my way to work and hammered it around them. The rear soaked up the mid corner bumps without getting jittery like it used to so the front continued to go where I wanted. Sweet! 8)

Good result! Does this mean you're on the road again?

Unfortunately no. I'm riding once a week to keep my hand in, but am trying to be good and not go for runs up the cotter etc. Only a couple of weeks to go though.

Bummer. We'll be organising a coast run after we're back from the supers, hopefully you'll have the insurance sorted by then.

No. The part numbers seem to have changed because of lightening modifications to the parts but they retained their interchangability. I was wrong about the axle sizes being different. The hole at the end of mine was smaller but the diameter is the same.
