BEST STATE TO RIDE IN ?????

After doing a stint in Melbourne (Thursday/Friday) back to Sydney(Saturday/Sunday) then Brisbane (Monday) Iwould have to say Brisbane would have to be the best state, weather wise to ride in. Melbourne=bloody freezing, Sydney=pretty cool but brisbane=amazing. the only drawback was the issue of drivers having an alergy to indicators, what is it with that? The trafic was great, no hussle and bussle like Sydney, large lanes great for cornering and streching the legs and so peaceful. Who out there thinks the same or is there someplace better

Here, let me reach under my jumper, rip out a fistful of chest hair by the root, stuff it in an express envelope and mail it to you.

You should have it by Thursday at the latest.

To be honest, I'd much rather shiver on the ride to work three months out of the year here in Canberra than get up at 4am for five months out of the year to get a ride in before it got too hot for leathers in Brisbane.

That said, this winter's gunna be a baddun. We've already had sub-zero minimums on a few nights.

i chose brissy, but its not really a state...so my pick would be QLD...only cause I know no better.

Its getting close to zero here too...where I work its getting to 1...its going to be a ball freezer riding to work this winter.

I picked Melbourne again not that it's a state so will say VIC because we have some of the best roads to ride on I think

Qld for the weather - I can't stand the cold

then NSW - for Bathurst, Bells road, the snowies, OPH, Putty, Oxley, Gwyder etc..

then VIC - Black Spur

AS much as I love the Black Spur I don't think it's worth freezing for

Northern NSW - would ride there everyday if i could.......summerland way,bruxner,gywder,nymboida,dorrigo,bellingen,oxley etc etc.

Bugger all traffic and authorities to deal with

and if you slow down there is actually some fantastic scenery(so i'm told)

you've put 4 cities in the poll and asked for which state is best to ride in. Reality is probably NONE of the 4 major cities you have put up there (we do have 2 other states and also 2 territories not m,entioned there) are best to ride in but once you get OUT of the cities then it becomes kinda interesting.

Can't forget/neglect the map of Tassie!!!

Kinda well done Dave, there is still NT and WA to be added, technically speaking NT and ACT aren't states but still need to be there

And yes I relaise the force isn't strong in the NT and the West but may well be plenty who have ridden there

Anyways, fwiw I understand Tassie to be motorcycling nirvana as long as you got wets and thermals and go in summer!

simple.... the best roads are in Victoria
Black Spur Reefton Grand Ridge Poowong Yea
Macedon Gisborne Gt Ocean Road Grampians
I could go on....

if you wanna ride them, you ignore the weather
(like if you wanna ride in QLd you got cooked or
damn wet during the summer)...your choice
