Masterbike.....AGAIN!!!!!!
Don't know if anyone else has posted this yet but I didn't think so.
Got my AMCN last night and guess what. the ZX10 wins Materbike for the third time.
Results were
1st ZX10
2nd MVAugusta
Equal 3rd GSXR, R1
5th Fireblade
Oh dear it really is becoming embarassing.

Here is a theory...
Race results = Bike sales.... Thats why most factorys are happy to spend so much money on racing...
BUT Kawasaki may have taken the "other" road..... i.e. Making the best bikes = Bike sales...
Perhaps if their sales slipped they would stop making the best bikes, and instead focus on winning races...

The world is round. It has no point.

The zx10r has been last on the sales list since its release.. Even the lowly rated cbr out sold it by almost 2 to 1... I'd say they have taken the wrong road..Stereo wrote:Here is a theory...

that and I don't think too many ppl like the look of the 06 10 so that doesn't help.. neither does the Kawi dealer network but thats another story...

It's because they are a bike for true connoisseurs of fine motorcycles. Those select few who truly deserve to ride.... the best of the best.MadKaw wrote:The zx10r has been last on the sales list since its release..
If I keep saying it, someday someone will believe it.

the problem is,
the masterbike champs is the only ammo we've got.
mind you it is good ammo.
whenever an R1 rider says, look who's dominating racing.
i can come back with, but they're riding a different, the best production bike is the zx10. it's now won 3 masterbike champs.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Isnt masterbike a track based test for streetbikes?
The thing the journos can cut ther best laps on at a trackday test isnt necesarily going to be the thing people buy for a allrounder roadbike when there parting with their hard earned dollars.
I am sure the bikes that go to superbike arent setup like the streetbikes their selling that need a firm but not overly harsh ride and the companies have a great cartridge setup for the track.
They have to be prepared to pay for the riders if they want to win on sunday and sell on monday and the big results at things like the superbikes are the results people look at.
Mind you you coulds probably ask a dozen ronda riders about the race results and half of them wouldnt know.

If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

Dave's about nailed it... the biggest problem Kawasaki have is a lack of dealer presence.
There's one Kwaka shop in Canberra. Even KTM have two.
Even in Sydney, there's not even half a dozen places to buy a Kawasaki... there's Sydney City Lane Cove, Sydney City Kogarah, Team Moto Parramatta, Kelen Kawasaki in Penrith, Broad Torque in Narellan... have I missed one?
...by comparison, there are two big Honda shops within 5 minutes of each other on the Princes Highway; Sydney City in Kogarah and Cycle City at Blakehurst...
If you live in Goulburn, you can buy a Suzuki, Yamaha or Honda locally. To buy a Kawasaki, you have to travel 115km to Fyshwick.
If you live in Armidale, your nearest dealer is in Tamworth.
Grafton, you have a choice; Ballina or Coffs Harbour.
Meanwhile, there are Yamaha shops in places like Myrtleford, Cooma and Gundagai.
