Aww I was doing so well!

Post by stevew_zzr »

Well it had to happen eventually. You stick a motor between you legs, try to go fast and eventually something ain't going to work! Sadly I don't have an exciting story to tell, I wasn't in the middle of a big 4th gear sweeper and high sided it, or lost the rear end trying to out-brake myself, or hit some loose gravel on the surface of the road and ended up off in the boonies, or get the wiggles doing an insane mono and then crash the thing on landing (can't mono my bike anyway).

I low-sided on a round-about at 35km/h

*waaaah*

I'd apply for 'Team Crash' ... but I think 'Team Crap Rider' is the only mob that'll take me now :(

The bike looks horrendous now (not that it didn't before) plus the fairing is cracked.

The rider looks sheepish, but okay :D

For those who might want a hint how a rider of my calibre (ahahahahaha) could possibly stack it so lamely -> You can ride around all day, hit the twisties, nail it perfectly and really get used to the feeling of the bike through the corners ... but if you stop for lunch for 30 mins, when you get back on her - she ain't the same I tell ya!
bananas -> bigger and harder than you !

Don't worry about it mate. Everyone stuffs up or comes close some time or another. Put it down to experience, remind yourself not to repeat the same mistake again and get back into it.

Tanyas right mate... You can cartwheel at 200 and walk away or slip in the driveway and break your leg.
If your limbs work it was a good one
Just because you CAN ride, doesn't mean you SHOULD

I think it was more of a case of ye olde cold tyres sadly. Totally my own fault!

Yeah definitely chalking this one up as a lack of experience.

Well that's bikes really, they don't exactly like to stay up on their own ey ;)

Anyone know where in Adelaide to get some kind of decent 'race tape' (will stress that i don't race on the roads tho!) or something to keep the thing from rattling so bad for now? If nothing else I'll just pop down to Autosport on magill rd. next week.

RH turns at roundabouts aren't as straightforward as they ideally should be. Plenty before you have f'd them up and there will be plenty after too, dn't sweat it, put it down to experience.
A good mate will bail you out of jail, a true mate will be sitting in the cell next to you saying "Damn, we fucked up!!!"
