 
 Anywho discovered this little gadget recently that takes a lot of the pain out of it- a Rollastand- the idea is to reverse your bike onto the rollers, and then you can rotate the rear wheel by hand, and lube the chain that way which is way better and easier.
 It also doubles as an aid for cleaning polished front wheels- you just drive the front wheel onto it- I guess you could use it in conjunction with a centrestand too for that duty.
