My Spada hasn't a centrestand which makes chain maintenance a bitch- previously have taken the bike down to the road (to share the chainlube with) and moved the bike a few inches and lubed a section of chain, then move again and again until the whole chain has been lubed- a royal PITA! :evil:
Anywho discovered this little gadget recently that takes a lot of the pain out of it- a Rollastand- the idea is to reverse your bike onto the rollers, and then you can rotate the rear wheel by hand, and lube the chain that way which is way better and easier. :lol: It also doubles as an aid for cleaning polished front wheels- you just drive the front wheel onto it- I guess you could use it in conjunction with a centrestand too for that duty.
Minus is that it doesn't stand the bike upright as a racestand does (oil changing etc) but the big plus is that it is small enough to fit in a saddlebag/gearsack/backpack, so you could lube your chain properly on a trip. :D
It cost $80 from Boyd Yung Suzuki. If you were handy I'm sure you could knock one up yourself. Am happy to share dimensions if you want to. 8)

AFAIK it is just called a 'Rollastand'- that is all that is written on it. I threw the packaging away weeks ago, and just got around to using it. (Spada doesn't do much work) :)

OR you could just make one out of an old mop bucket.... :)
OR use a block of wood to prop up one side of the swing arm (like I do :oops: )

they have been out for a while.

they are only good for lubing the chain.

how does it work when u click it into gear and the side stand is down :?:

Mop bucket idea is great- the rollers would be about the same size- then you would need two lengths of angled steel and two long bolts and nuts to go thru the steel and rollers! :D
Dunno why you would want to put the bike in gear- risk of it riding off by itself- I use neutral and spin the wheel by hand. :?

i use mine for cleaning my front wheel. when washing my bike i have it on the rear race stand and the front on the rollastand

takes a bit of work to get them to spin, but shitload easier than moving the bike forwards or backwards. i hate half cleaned wheels.. btw used to be http://www.rollastand.com.au however, it's not working

also used to be $65 bucks. I got mine couriered in from a bikeshop in ringwood all up about 75 bucks inc courier.

its a great idea , IF you are going to take it on a trip

The long trips that i take are with other mates that ride so the sidestand gets used and a mate lubes the chain for me

for $80 you could buy yourself the race stand in the group buy :)

love the mop bucket idea though

Another bonus I would guess (and this would apply to a 'mop bucket' model) would be that you could disassemble it and make it even smaller for transporting on your bike- only held together with 2 bolts! :)

too much hard work for me mate.

for an extra $10-20 i would of gone the proper rear stand.
