Removing Baffles
Removing Baffles
Hi All,
Want to remove the baffles from my stock Z750 pipe.
Is this hard to do?. Is it simply a case of drilling the pop rivets off the end of the pipe, and removing the baffles.
How are the baffles packed?, do they just slide out?.
I got a quote for $240 to get this done at a shop, and no way in hell am I paying that.

I was of the impression it wasn't that hard to remove the baffles, that's why I wouldn't mind doing that until I get an aftermarket pipe....
Gotta get me some new gear before pipe.

OEM Baffles can be Pretty Tricky to take out as they normally are spot welded into the outter sleeve with Partitions separting compartments.
After market pipes on the other hand are usually a "pieceofpoop" to muck with as they only have a single pipe inside as opposed to a few like the OEM units
hth.

ant, befoire doing as Duane said (he is right) maybe you should read Tanya's baffles removed thread.
You are going to make the fueling go to shit.
Hope you have a big selection of needles, a dyno and a LOT of time on your hands dude.....
OOPS Z750 so assume late model & EFI.
In THIS case you ONLY need PCIII, Dyno and good operator.....
If it only makes noise and no power, whats the point ??
Is it really worth the hassle for the noise ?
(Says he of open Micron fame....)

Just because you CAN ride, doesn't mean you SHOULD
