It's no different to the Suzuki V-Stroms and the Honda Varadero in that.

Regarding the underslung muffler, though, I just had a proper think about it... it's easier to limp a bike out of the bush with a stoved-in exhaust than with a hole in the bottom of the cases.

From that perspective, it makes sense. Although, the wisdom of taking a bike which was originally designed as an accessible commuter and lifting it 50mm further off the ground remains to be proven...

As for the styling, take one of these, and park it next to a V-Strom 650; the Suzuki would disappear. It's weird, but so is the future... I'd have one of those ahead of a regular ER-6.
