Bike not starting

Post by Duane »

Hi

I'm having some trouble starting my bike, Which way should the red switch be turned, also do I turn the key to lock or ignition. I'm not to sure.

I keep turning the key but the damn thing wont start, and what the hell is the green light?? I think I have a oil problem too because when I turn it too ignition (which doesnt start it, ?!?!) the oil light comes on, I have oil though.

I didnt have enough first time, so was i Ok in using sunflower oil? i figured if it's good enough for my insides, its okay for my kwaka??!

Also, my chain has this greasy stuff on it, is that normal?

Did you put your helmet on first? Everyone knows the bike will not start if you haven't put your helmet on...

Is red bull ok as fuel? I figure they race planes on the stuff, so it's good for the bike?

The number 1 reason most bikes won't start is lack of air in the tyres , make sure you check the pressure but if it's not that it will probably just be that you have the wrong type of air in them so you'll have to take it to a tyre shop and ask them for ( and be very specific ) motorcycle tyre air as the car is really bad for bikes

Oh no, I pumped my tyres up last time i was out at a petrol station, A car used it before i did so maybe i got the car tyre air?!?!

Speaking of which, Last time i washed my bike I used car wash soap, is this okay, or is this also likely to not let my bike start?

I'm really worried now, I've got so many things I may have done to cause this

There's your problem then. You probably got car fuel in it. Drain the tank and let it dry out completely before you fill it with Red Bull.

Also, i've heard in the rare case that you need to use car petrol, because our bikes are 4 strokes you need to buy double the ammount of two stroke oil to mix in with the fuel just so you can use it yeah???? that true???

nah, its the valves...

you need to spray lube on them and start it.

its probable caused from when you washed it, water got into the valves and seized them up.

thats what the well trained Kwak mechanics told Tanya :D
