I had lunch with a mate today, which unfortunately was my shout. However, it worked out well in the end. The course of conversation at the end of lunch got to what you were doing next. I mentioned I was going to have a sniff around for an Air compressor. He said not to be silly, as he had three or four that he didn't use, one of which is not large enough for his construction jobs and will never use. So he gave it to me along with some hose and a spray kit all of which was spankers apart from a thick layer of dust! It's only a little compressor 2.0hp 21Litres, but it's enough to run the air glower, pump and a Rattle gun so it's enough for me.
All I need now is a Rattle gun. Anyone got one for sale?
So now, the all I need is a gennie, welder, drill press and a lathe and I'll be happy!

I've got a 2hp 24 litre compressor, and I also have a rattle gun. As long as your only using it for undoing stuff you can by hand, its fine. Don't think its gunna get the front sprocket nut off...
Great for changing the rear sprocket or any other place that has lots of bolts....
There ok for spraying, we did the number surrounds on mine and Greenbloods 7 with my little compressor. The problem is they get a bit of moisture in them and it gets into the paint. Fine for a tracky but not that show bike you may want to build....
Supa cheap auto is your friend. They do a kit with a rattle gun and a heap of other stuff for about $100 during there regular sales (usually $159 or something)..

dave is right, if u need to do rough nuts like sprockets, forks etc u need a min of 2.5hp and a 40L tank.
However, u can get rattle guns that run on the small compressors that give u a bit more bite.
I will probably buy a rattle gun which is way too rugged for the compressor to handle, then I will have no choice but to go buy a decent compressor to go with it! And then I may as well get that Genset to run them all with at the tracks where they run out of power outlets, like Broadford and Winton!

Cause it is a biatch to run it in the shed at home or work then. Much rather have an electrically powered one for home/work, and use the gennie at those race meets where they run out o power.

Fair enough then...I suppose a genny is always handy for blackout season as well...
We had a Honda genset years ago when dad built our shed on a very rural block - based on that, I wouldn't buy anything else. The outlaws have a couple of the small Honda gensets for the beach house/caravan, and they are equally as good. Honda isn't always a dirty word

thats all good, ur garage will be full of air tools in no time.
mate have a chat with the guys at bunnings/supercheap and they'll let u know which gun to buy. From memory it had a 2HP rating on the box.
I can get u a 1MVA genset cheap. then u wont complain about running out of power.
look what i found strika. Maybe u can tow this to ur track days.
