ZX7R Akrapovic

Post by Ment »

A qwik question for those with zx7r's or just those with opinions.

how good is the full race 4 into 1 akra system for these?

I have been measuring up to build a custom setup pretty much the same as this. But given the quality of most akrapovics im thinking maybe i might get one of those.

any thoughts?
also can anyone recomend somewhere to buy such a system?
doesnt seem to be anything currently on ebay.

Akra full system $$$$ but Quality !..........those with em on here will give you a good opinion.

I went for a MUZZY full system stainless(not fitted yet) that i got from JC Motors(US Ebay store). My bedroom is starting to look like a spare parts outlet.........exhaust system/bmc filter/factory pro jet kit/+4 factory pro ignition advancer/vortex racing clipons etc etc.

My ZXR7 runs the titanium muzzy system. They can cause a dead spot below 4000rpm. They are very loud but above 4000rpm they breath really well. I run muzzy cams, bmc filter, opened up carbies / re jetted, big bore kit to 792cc and it took a lot of dyno time to clean up the dead spot. I have one point where it levels between 8000rpm and 8400rpm but its not noticeable while riding. Took off a few hp at the top end to build a better torque figure down low and its now on 125hp at about 11200rpm

They guys who tuned my bike, DynoBike in Victoria, were telling me the muzzy exhaust systems do have that tendency to cause a dead spot down low, although on full throttle they do very well.

Cheers..Clint
