So aluminium? Maybe had a busted sump/other part before you brought it, it's been replaced, but small pieces of the old part are still finding their way out.

Do particles really "suspend" in thicker (cold) oil?

By my logic, maybe the cold oil would "drag" the particles out with it - like flowing mud pulling you down a river :)

Where as hot, thin oil might leave the particles sitting on the bottom, like you standing in a river of water.

Sounds like a possibility, I know when Glen did his first oil change on the trackie there was plastic/rubber in the oil, but not after that as far as I know. :kuda:

When the bearing on the z650 went there was all sorts of crap sitting in the sump that couldn't seem to make it's way out with the oil, but that was bits of steel too so I'd expect they're a bit heavier than what you've got there. Yours look like those little gold coloured flakes you normally see.

The flakes are silver in colour Mick so i am guessing they are aluminium.

When you have ran the engine, (moutaiur in Aussie) the oil gets hot and has flowed through the moutaier and picked up all the stinky partricles that ahre, (another Aussie spelling) wharne, (another Aussie spelling) and suspends them in the ohyle. As you let the moutowr sit the meateal particlsss sit and synink to the bottom of the crank case. When the oil is kold these partivales stay in the bottom of the krank case and do not drain out. He who changesa his/ or her oiar kkcold is bound to have stuff in the Krankkase. Have a Beam and ride like you stole it.

Good idea, but be aware that if the north end of a southbound skunk smells better than the East end of a West bound polar bear going South then you have a major problem with your residual relay.
