Re: zxr750 h1 brake swap
Hi Troy, that caliper bolt hole centres for my B model 9 are 62mm. What do you mean exactly when you say "depth of the calipers"? If you like, I can try to fit one of the calipers off my 9 to my H2 tonight to see if it fits? I assume the forks are the same as the H1.

I'm not sure if you are allowed to use a radial in P6, might need to check out the MOM's.born green wrote:captain slow wrote:hello all has anyone here got knowledge of any known calipers that can bolt on .i thought earliy zx9 brakes calipers might fit .measurment from zx9 bolt hole centers and deepth of calipers would be helpfull cheers troy

Just checked. 16.6.6.1 Radial brakes are prohibited. It doesn't refer to calipers or master cylinders though.

Re: zxr750 h1 brake swap
They're a perfect fit Troy. FWIW though, I'm actually steering away from the Tokico callipers on both my 9 and H2 and going with Nissin. I'm looking at buying a set off an early GSXR but I will need to make some adapters so they fit, which shouldn't be too much of a problem. From what I have been reading, they are a shit load better than the Tokico calipers of that era. I just need to find a decent M/C to go with them on the H2 that's period legal.captain slow wrote:the depth would be from face of bolt hole to the face of outside brake pad fully open .if u could see if calipers can be swap that would be great for sum reason iam getting brake faid no matter what i do change fluid rebuilt caliper srud pad face etc so next step swap calipers cheers troy
This is the type of calliper I'm referring too.

Re: zxr750 h1 brake swap
thanks for that kev i would think that the tokico calipr of the zx9 would be better than the ones of the zxrh1and h2 .the m/c as far as i can tell is fine for know ,if you are going to run nissan caliprs from a gsx i would use the m/c off the same bike .as far a radial m/c in p6 there life will be short lived for they will be cracking down on that sorta thing by the way what year is the b model zx9 cheers troy

No worries, I'll keep it in mind. My ZX9 is a 1995 model (B2), which was the last ZX9 to use the 4 pot Tokicio's I believe.

Re: zxr750 h1 brake swap
ZXR J & L & ZX9 B1 & half of B2 used calipers with 62mm Bolt Hole Centres, ZX7, ZX9 B2 1/2, B3, C & E had 90mm BHS. GSXR 1000 K1 & K2 Tokico 6 pots are 62mm BHS. Heaps of bikes used the 90mm BHS so there's a lot of choice of calipers in Toki or Nissin.
I find a 14mm bore M'cyl. works best (actual stopping power as well as lever feel/effort) with 4 pots & 5/8 for 6 pots.
