We went for a quick ride today and a couple of times the chain slipped, once when I went to clutch it up and then again when I tried to take off in first gear. I didn't think much of it and assumed it must just be a bit loose. When I got home and went to tighten it, I noticed it was a bit hillbilly and was missing a few teeth.
Sadly, I had thrown my OEM one away when I put the new chain and sprockets on so I had to order a new one. This time I opted for a steel one instead of alloy as I don't think the alloy can handle all of the wheelies that the ZRX makes me do.

I reckon probably about 10,000km Tim.
It's -1 on the front, full system pods and stage 3 jets, heavy duty clutch with a quick action throttle and it cops a few too many clutch up wheelies and has to lug my big arse around, so I'm not too fazed about destroying an alloy sprocket. I'll just stick to steel ones from now on.

It is a Vortex sprocket. I don't know how I would go with a warranty claim with the abuse that it cops. The rollers on the chain look ok, so I think it's still fine.

It does it easy in 1st gear, but in second you need to hit the power curve just right to power it all the way up to the balance point. In second it will clutch up easy and will just do it in third if the revs are right too. It's not like a ZX10 that is light and will power wheelie in four gears; it weighs a tonne so it takes a bit more grunt to lift the front.

For the record, Leanne said I always break stuff on my bike from doing too many wheelies. I asked her what else (besides the $60 sprocket today) had I broken on my bike and she said "the speedo cable". That was 2 years ago!
